ElectHer: Women’s Month Symposium

March 20, 2020 @ 10:00 - 15:00

Elect Her is proud to be celebrating the amazing women in our community during International Woman’s Month. The symposium will feature women with vast and diverse experiences in the political realm. If you’re interested in working in government, changing the world through social causes, or learning more about the issues facing marginalized genders in 2020 – this event is for you.

There will be three panels at the event. The first panel will feature women who have worked in local, provincial and federal politics. The second panel is hosted in collaboration with the Canadian International Council and will feature women who have worked in International Relations and other international fields. Finally, the third panel will address the issues facing women and marginalized genders in 2020 and beyond. Please see the full schedule below for further information.

Lunch and snacks will be provided. Entrance by donation! Limited Space! Guarantee your spot with eventbrite!

Panelist bios will be shared soon, stay tuned!

TRADITIONAL TERRITORIES: Elect Her recognizes with respect that this event takes place on the traditional lands of the Lekwungen peoples and the Songhees, Esquimalt and WSÁNEĆ peoples, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. Elect Her acknowledges that we, as settlers, benefit from these unceded lands. We must recognize our role in colonization and actively engage with decolonization.

ACCESSIBILITY: This event will occur in Michele Pujol room in the Student Union Building at the University of Victoria. The building and room is accessible to wheelchairs, walkers, and other accessibility needs. Unfortunately, the event will not have an ASL interpreter. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to those who are deaf and hard of hearing.
