FEM-EXPO 2025

March 3, 2025 - March 7, 2025

FEM-EXPO (Feminist Empowerment Expo) is a bold, week-long celebration of intersectional feminism that weaves together the magic of workshops, panels, vendors, art, performances, and more!

Taking place from March 3-7 in the UVSS Student Union Building, FEM-EXPO is a love letter to empowerment, a celebration of resilience, and a rallying cry for change. Together, let’s embrace what uplifts us, dream of what liberates us, and dance through the revolution for a better future.

FEM-EXPO is the more inclusive big sister of SEXPO, the bratty celebration of sex positivity GEM has hosted annually since 2022!

For accessibility information about FEM-EXPO venues (SUB Upper Lounge, Michèle Pujol Room, and Vertigo), please see the accessibility guide.

12pm – 5pm | SUB Upper Lounge (Board Room)

In collaboration with Island Sexual Health, FEM-EXPO is proud to host this powerful photo exhibit, curated by Inter Pares.
While the idea of “passing down” knowledge through generations is common, in reality, intergenerational knowledge is multidirectional. Older generations are challenged, changed and informed by younger ones and vice-versa. Guided by this idea, daughters, mothers, grandmothers and other sexual outlaws documents the intergenerational exchanges and youth leadership fueling sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) activism around the world, at the family and community levels.

💟 FRIDAY MARCH 7 💟

Everybody Wiggle: Accessible Movement Session | 3:30 – 4:30pm | SUB Vertigo

Every Body Wiggle is an hour-long, semi-guided dance session focused on moving in a way that feels good for you! Bring comfy clothes, socks or sneakers to dance in, and a water bottle. We’ll start with a group check-in and some gentle warm-ups, then offer some simple prompts for dancing through the space to music. Unlike an ordinary dance class, you won’t be expected to learn any specific moves. You can choose to move (or not move) in any way that feels best for you!

You can sit out and rest or not follow along at any time, for any reason. There will be chairs and mats available. Feel free to use them to take a break or to dance while sitting! We’ll also have drawing supplies set out.

This session will be facilitated by Flora Wells and Taylor Schiedel-Foucher. If you need to lip-read, we can take off our masks while speaking. Otherwise, we will be wearing masks and a door will be open for airflow. Masks are encouraged and there will be masks in the space you can take.

The room is wheelchair accessible. If there are any accommodations you need, or anything we can do to make it easier for you to participate, let us know through our Google Form.

FREE Admission | No Experience Required
Please RSVP and indicate any accessibility requests through the form here!
